Van Dongen came from Brabant to Nunspeet in 1956, where he opened his first bakery. In the oven with a stone floor, he baked nearly 100 loaves at a time. Later, his sons also joined the business. Through constant innovation and expansion of the product range, Van Dongen succeeded in distinguishing himself from other bakeries.
