Catharinakapel

This monumental building has served various functions throughout the centuries, from housing the Gelderland Academy (1648–1816) to the military bakery between 1867 and 1907. After a restoration led by Jos Th. Cuypers in 1911–1912, it was consecrated as a parish church. The stained-glass windows you can admire today date from this period.

The chapel has not been a parish church since 1962. In the 1970s, the ground floor was converted into an exhibition hall and the upper floor into a small theater hall for drama and film. Today, the Catharina Chapel is the perfect location for various cultural events, from intimate concerts and theatrical performances to beautiful exhibitions.

With its impressive architecture, high vaulted ceilings, and stained-glass windows, the chapel exudes a unique atmosphere that makes every event special. The excellent acoustics and atmospheric decor make the venue ideal for a special experience at any performance or event.
