Botterhuren.nl has two botters and two Wieringer aken available. Robust, wooden fishing vessels complete with a dark brown sail that is hoisted by pulling hard on the ropes. Going out on the water in a botter is an experience!
A botter tour can be hired by groups, and everyone experiences the trip differently. Enjoy the tranquility of the water and lounge a bit on deck while a tasty snack passes by every now and then. Or help hoist the sails, furl the jib, and push the keel into the water. Or listen to the skippers' stories about how the Zuiderzee used to be fished with these ships.
A ship can accommodate approximately 12 people, excluding the skipper and passengers. It is also possible to moor the botter at an island, such as De Bieze, where the group can then enjoy a barbecue.
