Vischpoort

The Vischpoort is the only remaining city gate. Harderwijk once had five: two on the seaward side (the Hoge Bruggepoort and the Vischpoort) and three on the landward side (Grote Poort, Lutteke Poort, and Smeepoort). In 1851, the coastal light was placed on top of the gate. The gatehouse then became the lighthouse keeper's residence. Today, the Herderewich Historical Society is housed in the Vischpoort.
