“T-for-Tommy” monument

800 meters past KP 42 on the way to KP 43, you can turn right onto Gortelseweg. After approximately 400 meters, enter the sandy path (level with the brown post bearing a brief description of the British bomber crash). After 100 meters, go through the gate; after 200 meters, a small monument lies on the left commemorating the crash of a British bomber in which 6 crew members perished.

The monument in Gortel (Epe) commemorates the deceased crew members of the British bomber R 9168 T-for-Tommy, which crashed here on December 16, 1942. The deceased are buried in the cemetery on Tongerenseweg in Epe.
