The permanent exhibition 'Pension Harderwijk | Rooms Full of Stories' forms the heart of the museum. Historical guests reside there, as it were, each in their own room, and each represents a different period in the city's history. Through their eyes, you experience Harderwijk in a personal and surprising way. City Museum Harderwijk Outside the museum, the stories literally run through the city: each exhibition character is accompanied by a bronze statue at the exact historical spot in the city center where the story took place.
In addition to the permanent collection, there are fascinating temporary exhibitions on art, history, and current themes. On the ground floor, which is freely accessible, you will find a cultural café and a museum shop with a wide range of books, design, and gifts. For the youngest visitors, the Magpie Route has been developed: a playful route where a cheeky magpie leads children past the museum treasures.
